Clotaire and Susan have been running Balloon Above The Desert
together since 1986. They enjoy working together and each bring
a different perspective to their individual responsibilities
to the company. |

Clotaire Castanier
Co-owner/co-operator of Balloon Above The Desert
Clotaire has been
a commercial hot air balloon pilot since 1967. He has crossed
the Alps in balloons, and eight-hour journey, five times.
Since immigrating to the United States in 1973, he has served
as captain of the French Team and competed in World Class
balloon events, consistently placing in the top three positions
and receiving bronze medals.
Prior to opening Balloon
Above The Desert, Clotaire flew for The House OF Seagram's
Liquor company as well as the prestigious Buddy Bombard European
Balloon Tours.He started Balloon Above The Desert, in Palm
Desert, California with his wife Susan in 1986.

 John
Hennigan - Staff pilot
John is a senior pilot with Balloon Above The Desert. He is local to the valley
and has been flying balloons professionally since the early
1980's. John's worked with Balloon Above The Desert since
1986. As well as flying in the Palm Desert area John has also
flown in Del Mar, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe and Albuquerque,
New Mexico. John has exceptional pilot skills and enjoys the
pilot/client relationship.

Pete Froetschell -
Staff Pilot
Pete has flown for Balloon
Above The Desert since the early 1990's. As well as flying
in The Coachella Valley, Pete also flies in the Del Mar region
of California. Pete is an outgoing and fun person and enjoys
showing guests our unique view of the desert.

Bill Geeson - Staff
Pilot.
Bill is a newcomer to
Balloon Above The Desert. He joined the team in 2002, but
has been flying hot air balloons professionally in Sedona,
Arizona; Del Mar and Temecula California since the early 1990's.

 Vince
Valenzuela - Crew Chief.
Vince has been involved
with balloons and balloon companies since the early 1980's.
We've appreciated the dedication and broad range of knowledge
that Vince brings to his profession. Vince has proven his
ability to train and supervise his balloon crews as well as
using his equipment expertise to assist in maintaining all
of the equipment that is necessary to run a balloon company
to our exacting standards.
